Hawzah News Agency- The ceremony, held after congregational prayers, began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an and brought together believers from various neighborhoods across the city.
Kadir Akaras, head of the Turkish Ahlul Bayt Scholars’ Union (Ahladar), delivered the keynote address, highlighting the pivotal role of Hazrat Fatima (PBUH) in Islamic history. He emphasized that her unwavering resistance to oppression and her devotion to the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) serve as enduring lessons for Muslims in today’s world.
Akaras noted that the hardships faced by the Ahlul Bayt (PBUT) should not be viewed as mere historical incidents, stressing that they carry essential messages for promoting unity within the contemporary Muslim Ummah.
“Unity in the Islamic world is the red line for the followers of the Ahlul Bayt,” he said. “Protecting the integrity of the Ummah without neglecting historical truths is our collective duty.”
Three Transformative Achievements of the Prophet (PBUH)
In reviewing the 23-year mission of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Akaras identified three landmark transformations brought about during the early Islamic era:
– the establishment of a free and secure environment for faith,
– the promotion of economic justice, and
– the creation of a society founded on compassion.
These, he said, formed the essential pillars of the Islamic social order.
He further pointed to events in 9 and 10 AH, including the Battle of Tabuk, as revealing underlying divisions among the early Muslim community. Some individuals’ refusal to obey the Prophet’s command and the subsequent plot against his life, he said, reflected deep-rooted societal tensions.
“Hazrat Fatima Paid the Price for Protecting the Ummah”
Addressing the pressures faced by Hazrat Fatima Zahra (PBUH) after the demise of the Prophet (PBUH), Akaras underscored that the assault on the house of Imam Ali (PBUH) and Hazrat Fatima (PBUH) is a firmly documented historical reality.
Criticizing claims questioning Imam Ali’s (PBUH) stance during the crisis, he stated: “Imam Ali would never raise his sword against Muslims. Such a move would have ignited civil war and destroyed Islam at its inception. Hazrat Fatima (PBUH) gave her life to safeguard the mission of the Prophet (PBUH).”
Ghadir Khum and the Question of Leadership
Touching upon the Farewell Sermons and the event of Ghadir Khum, Akaras said the Prophet’s declaration on that day clearly affirmed Imam Ali (PBUH) as the most qualified leader for the Muslim nation.
“This truth was so evident,” he added, “that even the caliphs, years later, felt compelled to justify why Imam Ali (PBUH) was not chosen, which itself reveals the depth of historical contradictions.”
The program concluded with elegies in honor of Hazrat Zahra (PBUH) and prayers for unity and justice across the Muslim world.
